Paulina has worked extensively on research in the state of Nayarit, MX, which has a large area of wetlands which belong to the Natural Protected Area (recently designated as a Biosphere Reserve by the Comisión Nacional de Áreas Naturales Protegidas – National Commission of Natural Protected Areas) “Marismas Nacionales” (MN). This vast area of approx. 300,000 hectares provides critical shorebirds and waterfowl and waterfowl habitat in Mexico.
